WAPDA Teaching Hospital Complex
WAPDA teaching hospital is a tertiary care referral hospital for WAPDA employees. It is located In the center of the city at 210-Ferozpur Road Lahore. This 350 bedded hospital was inaugurated on 15th April 1995 and entertains patients of all major specialities of medicine. This hospital is approved by PM&DC for house job since 2009 and approved by UHS for undergraduate training since 2010. WAPDA Teaching Hospital is under administrative control of Dr. Muhammad Zaheer ul Islam Shakoori, DGMS, who takes keen interest in facilitating the teaching programmes along with Dr. Iftikhar Ahmad
who is working as Medical Superintendent. WTHC was affiliated with Central Park Medical College on 26th of January 2010. This agreement was signed by the Dean Central Park Medical College on behalf of Health & Education Foundation & Director General Medical Services WAPDA, on behalf of WAPDA Authorities. This is a very busy tertiary health care centre. Its annual OPD attendance is more than 400,000 patients and annual indoor admissions are more than 10,000. About 4000 surgeries are performed per annum. It provides ideal opportunity to students for learning the clinical skills by exposing them to a wide variety of patients. The coordination on clinical teaching is conducted through the programme coordinators. The coordinator designated on behalf of WAPDA authorities is Dr. Akmal Faiz Bhatty & the programme coordinator designated on behalf of CPMC is Prof. Mukhtar Hassan Randhawa.
One seat with 50% concession in tuition fee has been reserved for children of WAPDA employees who secure admission on merit. Employees desirous for availing this facility will send one copy of admission form though their respective office to the Director General Medical Services, WAPDA.
