Student's Views are Important |
| |
Students' views and suggestions have always been the foundation of the college policy. The faculty always makes it a point to have a chit chat with the students before they bring forward any new reform in the policy. This session, a new concept was introduced in the college by th dean Prof. A. S. Chughtai. The idea was to encourage the students to express themselves. This was done so that the students not only could express themselves, their suggestions also reach the entire faculty. In the consequence, four boards were installed in the college on 24th of june 2009. The boards are under the following heads of
- "Express yourself"
- "Message to the dean"
- "Poetry"
- "Suggestions from you"
The response to this move was overwhelming.............
The students stated their views regarding lectures, methods of teaching, and the things they appreciated in college, also spoke about their further requirements. They also stated encouraging poems, stanzas, and sayings etc. at the time of internal exams. The students felt satisfied and pleased when they saw their suggestions and demands were actually considered. Thus the concept of boards in the college is a great success and is still working successfully.

CPMC And The Friendly Geese And Pigeons |

Plants and birds are said to be the environmental friends, this is very much eminent in the atmosphere of CPMC these days, where beautiful shinning white geese are seen strolling on a rich developing vast green grassy back ground of the lawn, surrounded by red jogging track and recently implanted trees and highly erected buildings of the under construction hostel in the back ground. At the entry of the campus you meet a bunch of pigeons giving the message and impression of peace love and friendship. |

| The First Professional part I result was announced on 14th December, 2009. By the grace of God our students showed excellent result of 84.65 %. There were 18 distinctions in Biochemistry, 6 in Anatomy and 1 in Physiology. Mudassar Latif Malik stood first in the college & 4th in UHS and secured distinctions in all subjects, Javeria Karamat stood second and also secured distinctions in Anatomy and Biochemistry and Mubashar Latif Malik stood third and also secured distinctions in Anatomy and Biochemistry. |

AWARD GIVING CEREMONY TO CELEBRATE SUCCESS |

To acknowledge the out standing performance of students of CPMC in the First Professional Part I Examination an award giving ceremony was organized by the Dean on 16th December, 2009 in Mian Ashiq Lecture Theatre. Mian Tahir Javed Chairman Board of Trustees was the chief guest. The CEO Dr. A.T. Naqvi, the trustees Mrs. Uzma Rafiq & Mr. Riaz Chohan also graced the occasion. The CEO & Dean in their addresses appreciated the students for their achievements & wished to keep it up.
The medals were awarded to position holders by Chairman Mian Tahir Javed. The Gold Medal was awarded to Mudassar Latif Malik for standing first in the college & he also got 4th positon in UHS and secured distinctions in all subjects. Javeria Karamat was awarded Silver Medal for standing second in the college and she also secured distinctions in anatomy and biochemistry. Mubashar Latif Malik was awarded Bronze medal for standing third in the college and he also secured distinctions in anatomy and biochemistry. In addition cash prizes of Rs. 25,000/-, Rs. 20,000/- and Rs. 15,000/- were given respectively to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd position holders.
Gold Medals were awarded to the toppers of each subject. Mudassir Ltif Malik topped in Anatomy and Physiology and Afra Bhatti topped in Biochemistry.
There were 18 distinctions in biochemistry, 6 in anatomy and 1 in physiology. Certificates of honour were awarded to all the distinction-holders by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mian Tahir Javed, CEO Dr. A.T. Naqvi, Dean Prof. A.S. Chughtai, the trustees Mrs. Uzma Rafiq & Mr. Riaz Chohan.
Cash prize was also given to Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed Hashmi, Head Biochemistry Deptt., for producing 99% result and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja for his remarkable services as Head of Medical Education Department. Later on, in a separate ceremony Prof. Tassaduq Hussain Sheikh, Head Anatomy Department, and Dr. Akmal Hasan, then Head Physiology Department, were also awarded cash prizes for excellent results in their subjects.

The First Professional part I 2010 result was announced on 25th November, 2010. By the grace of God our students once again have shown excellent performance. Syeda Shahana Ali D/O Syed Kazim Ali Naqvi is highest achiever and got first position in UHS. She secured 481/550 marks. There are 12 distinctions, 6 in Biochemistry, 3 in Anatomy and 3 in Physiology. Result percentage is 77.36.
Shajeel Ahmad by securing 465 marks stood 2nd in class and Tayyab Raiz by securing 445 marks stood 3rd in class. |

| Dr. Muhammad Zaheer-ul-Islam, Medical Superintendent has intimated that the name of WAPDA Hospital Complex has been changed. Now its name is WAPDA Teaching Hospital Complex. The WAPDA Teaching Hospital Complex is an attached Hospital of Central Park Medical College, Lahore. |

Javeria Karamat is highest achiever and got first position in UHS. She secured 494/550 marks. Mudassir Latif Malik stood 2nd in the UHS by securing 492/550 marks. Last year in the First Prof. (I) he was at 4th position in the university. Mubashir Latif Malik stood third at CPMC by securing 468/550 marks. |

| The new edition of Hashmi's Complete Text Book of Medical Biochemistry by Prof. Mukhtar Ahmad Hashmi of Central Park Medical College has been launched. This is the 5th edition & the book covers complete syllabus prescribed by UHS. CPMC appreciate the efforts of Prof. Hashmi for bringing the updated edition. |

Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad Hashmi has been awarded Quaid-e-Azam Gold Medal and Khadimain Hermain Sharifain Shah Abdulah bin Abdul Aziz Gold Medal by Tehrik-e- Istehkam-e-Pakistan on 10th April,2011. He has been awarded for his outstanding services to the Medical Prifession. Prof. Hashmi has more than 30 years teaching and research experience.He is also author of books on Biochemistry.
2- The Biochemistry Department has published a book titled as "Quick Review MCQs with explanations", under the Supervision of Prof. Hashmi.
3. Dr. Syed Imran Ali Shah, Assistant Professor Biochemistry has been selected by Lindau Council, Germany for participation in the prestigious Noble Lauraetes Meetings to be held at Germany from 24th June to 7th July 2011. He is amongst 550 young researchers selected from 20.000 contestants Worldwide. HEC is sponsoring his visit to Germany.CPMC is proud of these achievements. |
