The subject of Forensic Medicine is taught in 3rd Year MBBS. It deals with training of students for conduction of postmortem and medico-legal examinations, techniques for detectiion of poisons and trace evidence materials. Search for truth is essence of Forensic Medicine.

The department has a museum containing a variety of teaching materials like models showing various forms of violence, weapons of assault, autopsy instruments, poisons, charts.

There is one Toxicology cum serology Lab.

            Prof. Muhammad Iqbal Mughal is head of department who has postgraduate qualifications of DTCD, DMJ & M. Phil Forensic Medicine (Gold Medalist). He has 28 years of teaching experience in Forensic Medicine at undergraduate & postgraduate level. He has 25 research publications to his credit. He has served previously at NMC, King Edward University, PGMI, SIMS.
